Dr. Preshanthini Shanmugathasan completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto. She then went on to the Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at the Ellis Family Medicine Residency Program in Schenectady, New York. Dr. Shan is board certified and a Diplomate of American Board of Family Medicine. She served as Chief Resident in her program from 2012 to 2013 and was elected Vice President of the New York State American Academy of Family Physicians–Ellis Chapter. She is a recipient of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine award in her program. Dr.Shan enjoys the broad scope of family medicine and provides primary care for people of all ages. Her particular interests include Medical Education, Preventative Medicine & Women’s Health. She is fluent in English and Tamil.
